DONNA COULTHARD
Language: Adnyamathanha and Kuyani
Community: Leigh Creek
When I was younger, I would help my dad and uncle burn patterns into boomerangs. Now I carve these lines into the clay. These lines are contour lines of my country – Adnyamathanha Yarta.
Donna Coulthard.
I was born in the old Leigh Creek town on Adnyamathanha Country, Flinders Ranges. I was a few weeks old when we moved to
Copley. I’ve been here my whole life, going out bush. I learnt to ride horses and motorbikes out here.
I used to draw on the ground and paint on rocks, graffi on trees. Art was my favourite subject at school.
