NGAPALA ARTS, COPLEY

The Ngapala Arts ceramic project bought artists from Copley, Leigh Creek and surrounding areas together for skill development opportunities in 2021. The program was funded by Arts SA and saw ceramicist Ashlee Hopkins deliver four weeks of artistic development workshops. The workshops provided hands-on practical, creative skills development in ceramics for artists.

In October 2021, artists debuted new artworks as part of the Tarnanthi Online Art Fair through the Ku Arts shopfront, selling 41 original artworks. A curated selection of works will also feature in a 2022 JamFactory exhibition titled 'Australiana', Seppeltsfield in Barossa Valley.

Ngapala artists were also assisted in creating artist bios and had professional photographic headshots and a video documentary of the workshop by Dave Laslett (www.davelaslett.com).
