ELEVATE - JEWELLERY WORKSHOP

MURRAY BRIDGE - Workshop 2

July 18 - 19th 2024

The 2024 Elevate workshop series was developed to build on our strong connections with independent artists in the Murraylands, Coorong, Fleurieu and surrounding areas.

Following a series of successful silk painting workshops in McLaren Vale in early July, the second in a series of 3 workshops was hosted in Murray Bridge at Ngarrindjeri Ruwe Empowered Communities.

Jamfactory jewellery associates Dani and Jess hosted a hands-on two-day workshop that aimed to elevate participants’ jewellery designs through hand-made findings, using quality metals to make earring hooks and frames to weave onto.

Participants shared creative practices and weaving skills while yarning about their experiences of running arts businesses. Topics covered how to price workshops for the public and private sectors, prepare for markets, judge an opportunity as worth pursuing, and identify red flags to look out for when considering a paid creative brief.
