ACTIVATE! DARWIN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRIP

In August 2023, nine artists travelled to the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, The National Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Art Awards, and satellite exhibitions and events, including the Salon De Refuses for Ku Arts annual Activate program.

This program is designed for committed artists who are open to knowing more about how to extend their practice, participate in art markets and fairs, and submit their artwork for exhibitions and awards. This is a professional development program for independent artists in South Australia seeking access to industry opportunities that support career development.

The program was delivered over a 5-day industry engagement opportunity, commencing in Adelaide and travelling to Darwin to attend the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF), the Telstra NATSIAA's (National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards), and other industry events, including the SALON des Refuses, UNTOLD panel discussions and DAAF artistic masterclasses.
